  • ABOUT | iCERT

About iCERT ABOUT US iCERT-The Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies-is the only industry trade association focused exclusively on emergency response technologies and related equipment, systems, and services. iCERT is dedicated to improving public safety through innovation. OUR MISSION iCERT's mission is to improve public safety and emergency response by uniting leading technology companies in a collaborative effort to drive innovation, shape effective policy, and promote open standards. Through shared expertise and coordinated action, we strive to ensure that communities are safer, more resilient, and better equipped to respond to emergencies. OUR APPROACH iCERT's approach focuses on three objectives: Facilitating collaboration among our members, the public safety community, and various other stakeholders that are all interested in improving emergency response Advancing Federal and State public policies that will bring about improvements in emergency response Developing good best practices for the industry OUR MEMBERS iCERT's members are the nation’s leading public safety communications technology companies, including manufacturers, software developers, systems integrators, service providers, and others. OUR HISTORY iCERT was founded by a group of prominent business leaders in December, 2005 originally as the 9-1-1 Industry Alliance, iCERT plays an important role as the voice of commercial public safety companies, wireless carriers, and related vendors on public policy issues impacting 9-1-1 and the emergency response system. iCERT’s membership is diverse, and many of its members not only have differing business objectives, they may even be direct competitors. Even so, all of iCERT’s members agree that an invigorated vendor community engaged in frequent two-way dialog with public safety officials, regulators, Congress, and policy makers is indispensable to creating the highest quality emergency services for all members of the public. iCERT members believe history has established and continues to demonstrate that business leaders’ expertise can assist public policy makers and government emergency communications professionals as they address complex choices regarding advanced communications technologies. To fill this continuing critical need in public safety, the unique value represented by iCERT is that it is the only commercial sector trade association focused exclusively on the emergency response technologies sector. • IWCE | iCERT

At the IWCE24 Conference & Expo, it was impressive to see so many iCERT member companies participating as speakers, exhibitors, and attendees. Many of our members participated on multiple panels throughout the week, lending their expertise to the discussions, including Amazon Web Services, Anterix, Carbyne, DATAMARK, Directions, INdigital, L3Harris, MFS, Mission Critical Partners, NGA, Nokia, Sinch, Softil, The Digital Decision, T-Mobile, Valid8 and Verizon. During the week, iCERT members and friends gathered together for our annual IWCE Happy Hour. Many old and new faces met for drinks, networking, and laughs while enjoying the sunny Orlando weather. For the first time, IWCE attendees experienced the transformative potential of the PSAP of the Future. The feedback we received was incredibly positive in terms of both the set-up of the exhibit and, just as important, the content. This could not have happened without the 10 iCERT member companies who saw the vision, believed in the concept, and provided the needed financial backing and technical content to make the PSAP of the Future a reality. Thank you to Carbyne, DATAMARK, Eventide, Exacom SecuLore, Mission Critical Partners, NGA, Pulsiam, Sinch, Valid8, and Zetron! A huge thanks also to all involved in the planning and developing of the exhibit: Morgan Sava, Carly Burgmeier, and the MCP team; Randy Mansfield, who designed and built the exhibit; Erin LeMoine, Donny Jackson, and the Informa/ IWCE show team; and of course the iCERT team. Thank You, Happy Hour Sponsors!

Have you heard about the PSAP of the Future? Imagine an innovative solution that leverages the latest technologies to improve emergency response times and save lives. This game-changer is the PSAP of the Future. A unique collaboration with iCERT, its members, and IWCE. With features like satellite communications, AI language translation, next-generation core services, texting image and video transmissions, and real-time data analytics, emergency responders can quickly and accurately assess a situation, dispatch the appropriate resources, and provide critical information to those in need. • 911 Education Foundation | iCERT

911 Education Foundation Mission The 911 Education Foundation — a subsidiary nonprofit of iCERT — raises awareness of, and educates policymakers, public safety stakeholders, and the general public on issues related to next generation 911 technologies, their deployment and operation. The Foundation provides a context to address questions about how next generation 911 standards and protocols, network elements and facilities, deployment and connectivity, and economics and funding, among other issues, will be defined apart from those found in the legacy telephone company environment. The Foundation also serves as a resource to public safety stakeholders as they look to next generation 911 to improve emergency response in their communities with tools, such as Internet protocol (IP)-based call-processing equipment, enhanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and managed IP networks, to make more informed decisions, to better monitor situations in progress, and to manage their 911 environment. iCERT Member Participation and Presence Felt at 911 GTW This week, the 911 community gathered in Washington, DC, for the annual 911 Goes To Washington (GTW) fly-in. iCERT members came out in force and made their presence felt. It was, once again, great to see iCERT members making the trip to DC and fanning out across Capitol Hill for meetings with members of Congress. In addition to hitting the Hill, a large number of iCERT members came out to celebrate two iCERT members who were honored at the annual NG911 Institute’s Honor Awards. Mary Boyd was honored with the Carla Anderson “Heart of 911” Award, and Jeff Wittek of Motorola Solutions, Inc. was honored as the 911 Industry Professional of the Year. Several iCERT member company representatives participated as presenters in the Honor Awards ceremony. Overall, this year’s iCERT presence at GTW was outstanding and created the momentum we can continue to build on. Thanks to all who made the trip to our nation’s capital to lobby on our industry priorities.
