iCERT Urges Presidential Campaigns to Make Next Generation 911 a National Priority

iCERT, in two identical letters, has urged the Democratic and Republican candidates to provide 'critical' federal funding for next-generation 911, a digital platform for emergency communications that states and localities are currently pursuing without the aid of federal funding.

 

In the letters addressed to Vice President Harris and Governor Tim Walz, and Former President Donald Trump and Senator JD Vance, iCERT noted most areas of our nation continue to rely on outdated technologies that are unreliable, vulnerable to cyber-based attacks, and unable to support the multimedia capabilities that are critically needed to support effective emergency response.
